1. メチル水銀摂取状況調査
1)　夏季調査の結果、対象者の毛髪水銀濃度の幾何平均値（最小−最大）は、男11.0 ppm（0.74 ppm−139 ppm）、女6.63 ppm（0.61 ppm−79.9 ppm）であった（国内14地域の幾何平均値（最小−最大）は、男2.47 ppm （0.10 ppm−40.6 ppm）、女1.64 ppm (0.01 ppm−25.8 ppm）)。

この１０年の間に、日本で販売されている鯨類(クジラ、イルカ)由来食品の有毒化学物質の汚染濃度に関しては、専門家による独立評価が数多く行なわれてきた。専門家仲間による査読を受けた複数の科学論文によって、イルカ肉が政府の暫定的規制値の数百倍という濃度の水銀に汚染されていることが明らかにされている。
